Healthy relationships break out worldwide (East Village)

You might be thinking, healthy relationships breakout world wide? Is this a joke! Oh no, it’s not! I’m a relationship coach with a web-business based in the East Village. I also give lectures and workshops. I work with singles and couples around the world using a very unique approach to the challenges of relationships. Over the last year, I have been presenting my work at a top rated high school in Manhattan. The program is ready to go on a larger scale and will likely become newsworthy in the process. This is an exciting position for someone who has good writing and research skills as we will be exploring and making sense of one of the most challenging areas of life. We spent 12 years in school preparing for a good job. How much time was spent preparing for a healthy relationship?

You must be able blog as that is a significant part of the job, but I am also putting up content on the website and if you can maintain and update the website that’s a plus as well as putting together email announcements using Photoshop. There are also research and writing projects.

The job includes assisting with email correspondence, helping to maintain and update spreadsheets containing client information, typing, and generally helping with organization. You must be able to type a minimum of 75 wpm.

The skills I seek in an assistant include knowledge of Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, an ability to easily grasp software dealing with internet marketing (e.g. constantcontact.com), and a strong attention to detail. The qualities that are essential are punctuality, patience, and a good nature. Are you a self starter? If so continue reading.

1. Please attach your resume as a Word document

2. Include a brief paragraph that addresses the specifics of this posting.

3. You must also include how many words you type per minute.

4. Please put something eye-catching in the subject heading, so I know you’ve actually read the entire ad. Otherwise, your application will not be considered.

The job involves multiple projects so you must be focused and accountable. Again only self-starters need apply. The office is spacious, clean and gets good light. Dress is casual and the atmosphere is relaxed even though this ad is quite complex. There’s a working kitchen as well.

Until funding arrives it’s $10 per hour to start. 15-20 hours a week. Times and days are flexible.

Great opportunity for students and anyone who wants to become part of a developing project that’s exciting and meaningful.

LINUX
Want to write for Linux.com? Here’s some information on what we like in an article, and how to approach us.

We pay $100 – $300 (via check, bank transfer, or PayPal) for articles. Most of the articles we publish are between 800 and 1,500 words, but we’re flexible in either direction. Articles must be original and not have appeared elsewhere in English. Look at what we’re already publishing to get an idea of the kind of stories we like, but don’t be afraid to submit an idea that’s unlike anything else we’ve ever run. We love originality. To improve your chances of having a piece accepted, follow the format and writing tips in the attached template document (right-click and save file).

We publish news, reviews, case studies, HOWTOs, feature articles, and fact-based commentary directly related to Linux, open source, or free software. We’re especially interested in reviews and case studies of corporate and enterprise-level products…….

WORLDSTART
What We’re Looking For: We are primarily looking for tips for our e-mail newsletter, Computer Tips & Techniques. This is published daily to 125,000 readers and focuses on tips and tricks the average computer user can utilize.

We are also seeking feature articles for our website covering any and all aspects of computing. In addition, we are looking for computer terms and definitions for the Terms section of our website.

All submissions should be written at a level anyone can understand. Our goal is to show the average user how to use his or her computer. Most tech manuals and books assume the user is already computer literate, but our publication / web site is designed to help everyone learn their computer, not just techies.

For example, let’s say you had a tip that involved opening the Mouse properties under the control panel. Most publications would simply tell the user to open the Mouse icon under the Control Panel.

We are looking for more detail than that. We tell our readers EXACTLY how it’s done – Hit the Start Button, Settings, Control Panel. Then double-click the Mouse icon.

That’s what we’re looking for.

Submissions should be well written, require a minimum of editing, include relevant screen shots (click here for assistance with this), and be presented in a light-hearted style. We like to entertain while we teach. If you submit a tip that reads like a high school biology textbook, it’s going to get rejected.

Types of Articles & Payment:

Note that we will confirm payment and rights before publishing any submitted piece. We generally pay net 7 on publication (we’ll cut you a check within a week of when your piece was published).

Computer Tips & Techniques

We are looking for general windows, internet, and e-mail tips. Tips that relate to one specific program or hardware device usually are not appropriate for this publication.

The newsletter has two primary sections – Computers 101 & Tip of the Day. The Computers 101 section is presented in a Q&A style and generally covers a topic beginners would be interested in.

The Tip of the Day section is geared towards everyone. It still needs to be written in a way that everyone can understand.

Your best bet is to check out a few of our back issues to get an idea of how long the tips are and how they are presented.

Note that all submissions need to include any relevant screenshots!

Payment varies widely depending on the quality of the submission, length, and usefulness of the tip or topic.

* The minimum page length is 1 page (approximately 400 words) with screenshots – $45.00, without screenshots – $35.00
* Two pages (approximately 800 words) with screenshots – $55.00, without screenshots – $45.00
* The max is three pages (approximately 1200-1500 words) with screenshots – $65.00, without screenshots – $55.00…

Offshore Diver’s Magazine
Got an idea for something you want to write about? Go with it. But first, please email your idea and we’ll let you know if it’ll do for the magazine. Save you from duplicating someone else’s work, maybe. ODM steadily receives email from readers saying what they would like to see in the magazine. Most of the ideas are great and we run with them, but there are too many for this little magazine to pursue all. If you want to write but are short of ideas, see the list of reader requests at right.

Length – Keep it to between 500 and 2000 words, please. If you have to go longer, that’s fine; but give us a heads up so we can allocate however many pages it looks like you’re going to need.

Images – Pictures, charts, etc… are welcome. Electronic submissions only. Please do not send compressed files. We can work with any file type or size, although bigger is always better as regards printed appearance. Unlike most magazines, ODM is printed on a 300dpi digital press. Costs more, but it’s worth it. Unfortunately this means that if your photo is 300 pixels wide, it will be about the size of a postage stamp when you see it in print. If the only photos you have for your article are small enough that you think they might be too small, send them anyway and we’ll see what we can do for you.

Deadline – Issue deadlines are posted on the ODM home page (the page you were at before this one). Generally speaking, the magazine comes out every two months for six issues per year. At least that’s the plan. Life and work do intervene. If you just got an issue and have decided to write something for the next, you have about six weeks to get it into final form. But check the ODM home page or email us to find out just how long you have.

Payment – 10 cents per published word for original writing. Usually works out to about $100 a page. Commercially oriented articles which are worth publishing but which we all know are really just long and wordy advertisements for you pay 5 cents per published word. Articles already printed elsewhere but which are worth publishing again and for which you have the right to submit to us are appreciated, but pay nothing. Writer’s checks for each issue are mailed after that issue is in the mail. If you want some extra copies for impressing dive groupies, just ask.

Milwaukee Magazine
Writer’s Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in Milwaukee Magazine. Here are some guidelines that will help you in submitting material:

WHO WE ARE

1. Milwaukee Magazine is a monthly magazine covering the people, issues and places of Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin. Total circulation is about 40,000; total readership (according to the respected Media Audit) is more than 220,000.
2. Get to know our publication by reading it. Some stories are archived on our Web site. Sample copies of the magazine may be bought on newsstands throughout the area ($3) or requested by mail ($6). One-year subscriptions are $19.

WHAT WE WANT

1. We are interested in timely stories about current issues, local personalities, area business, sports, healthcare, education, politics, arts and culture, architecture and urban life, history, food, shopping, music and nightlife, recreation and the environment. We are particularly looking for writers who can deliver brightly written, well-researched service articles but are also interested in investigative stories from qualified reporters. Full-length feature stories run 2,500-5,000 words; if your query leads to an assignment, we’ll specify what length we’re looking for. We pay $700-$2,000.
2. We are also in the market for two-page “breaker” stories, which are often short on copy (less than 1,500 words) and long on visuals.
3. Stories for our front-of-book Insider section range from exposés to amusing slices of local life to interesting people profiles. We’re looking for stories you won’t find in other local publications and unconventional angles on the current scene. Freelance writers often begin their association with Milwaukee Magazine here. These stories usually run no more than 650 words and pay $50-$225. Query Assistant Editor Evan Solochek. Mini-reviews for our Reviews page are assigned by Senior Editor Ann Christenson. Mini-reviews run no longer than 125 words and pay $50.

WHAT WE DON’T WANT

1. We focus very closely on Milwaukee and the surrounding area. We are simply not in the market for articles that are not about the people, places and issues of our region. Nor are we much interested in stories about former Milwaukeeans or national subjects that touch our region only tangentially.
2. We are not in the market for fiction, personal reminiscences or poetry.
3. Many of our columns are written by regular contributors, but occasionally we publish freelance submissions…
